On Reading The Poets Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

On Reading The Poets

Rating: 5.0

I scroll through these lists of proffered dreams
Finding so much emotion- love, joy, peace; it seems
The world is not so bad a place as I once thought
For poets' hearts and souls the better spirit sought
To make my life worth the journey each day
While sifting through cares to find my better way
I am inspired by humble voices from distant places
And feed on thoughts from young poets faceless.
How often I have settled for the lesser kind
And filled with bitterness my heart and mind.
