On Regretting Poem by Carla Sofia Puebla

On Regretting

The perennial moonlight
Of your dimly lit
Spirit
Wandered, haunted me
For weeks.

Now the misery is
Driving me insane
I cannot have what I yearn for
And the unrequitedness
I suffocating
Like a plastic bag with tape

Regretting will never fix things
But it surely does
Not
Help with the coping of
Pain

Some things are better left forgotten
Some things are better left alone
How do you dispose something
Attached inescapably to your own
Essence?

You don't.
