On The Day That I Saw You Poem by Cookie Matzii

On The Day That I Saw You

On the day that I saw you,
I knew I was in love.
Oh, my heart was really pounding to be out for this love.

But I know to see you again,
I'll never do for the rest of my life,
not even be your friend,
your best friend,
or perhaps, your wife.

Man, just with a glimpse of your breath-taking smile,
my heart will be like a car,
going on for a thousand miles.

And I'd give up forever to feel your soothing warmth,
hoping I'll get close enough to even hear
your beating heart.

But to lose hope,
no, I won't.
I won't do such an act.
Because in my heart,
I know for a fact...
I'll be waiting here for you,
every single day..
waiting..
waiting that maybe,
just maybe..
someday, you'll feel the exact same way.
