On The Edge Poem by Snake Blocker

On The Edge

On the edge, I see danger and conflict.
On the edge, I see turmoil and strife.
On the edge, I will find no commitment.
This precipice could cost me my life.

I stay on the edge for adventure.
It gives me a 'hell of a fight.'
It excites me to know I'm in trouble...
One mistake and I'll fall from great heights.

On the edge, there is no one to guide me.
I create my own games and the rules.
If you want to be safe you'll be average.
And average men die like fools.

I stay on the edge for amusement,
I know all the shortcuts around.
I'll pass up the crowds by the wayside,
They'll whine and sulk, but I'll ignore their sounds.
