On The Other Side. Poem by Noel Sevilla

On The Other Side.

They say grass is greener
on the other side,
but when the immigrant,
sun burned and wet
got there,
he found dryness, hardship,
mockery, discrimination.
He had to look again
for a place at least
half green
and leave the other side,
to darkness.
