On The Quad Poem by Phillip Erb

On The Quad

The most unassuming tree
Bares a full dress of parched brown leaves
Insofar it has succeeded in captivating stubborn denial
Silent laughter, flaunting the entire scene
Right in Old Man Winter’s face
He only glares
Crippled, feverish
as senility
