On The Road Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

On The Road

On the road

"Bye"
I said to Toronto.
"Hello"
I said to Montreal.

Cellphone on me
PC at home
Came alarms
One after one
In tons.

Did not look
Could see by experience
Could imagine them all
In thoughts, and read
The news and the ads

And of course I knew
Half of them were
Birthday greetings.

"Kind of you…"
"Thanks…"
Meant to write back
But
Could I?

While on the road…
