On The Road To Intellect Poem by Farina Afrin Malik

You are a constant reminder of who I was,
but you also remind me of who I am not
and who I am going to be.
It's time I look to new horizons,
to help me find my way,
the path seems worn and weary
and I find myself go astray.
Along the road
a trail of crumbs that I leave behind,
of the many experiences I have faced
to teach me my own mind.
God willing I move forth,
confidence in my stride.
Afraid of the hurdles to come
and the pain it may provide.
Still it is time that I look forward
and trudge along this path,
for whether I choose wrong or right
I shall have to face the aftermath.
