'Will you be my friend? 'I asked
will you be so true.
Have you earned my respect
or is it I who must earn you?

These questions I recall
When I see your face
My mind wonders aimlessly
Hoping to see such a trace

Of all the various problems
Or if we're doing fine
Shall you lend me your ears
Or shall I lend you mine?

Shall I speak truthfully
or shall I lie?
If I do, shall you still
stay by my side?

If you like the color pink
Shall I like it too?
Or is it okay if I prefer
a different sort of hue?

If someone were to whisper
something dreadful in your ear
would you believe them?
Or highly defend me, my dear?

When I toss and turn at night?
When I scream and cry
Will you run and come hither
And wipe my tears dry?

Sometimes when we fight
I'll forgive you right away
Shall you do the same?
I don't know its hard to say

Friendships can be beautiful
Strong and sincere
Also full of hatred
Love and fear

If all the good qualities
Your friend does show
Hold them close to your heart
And Never let them go
