Rating: 2.7

I’m on the run
from myself

being hunted down
by memories & regrets

things I should have
forgotten but...

...haven’t forgotten yet.

Like an old toy
tin man

left out in the rain
when I was 5

its spring wound too tight
its mechanism rusted

discovered after years
discovered with tears

remembering how bravely
it would step off the edge

fearless... knowing that the next step
was not there

its bright eyes flashing
its ray gun flashing

walking on air
the second before

...the fall.
