On The Sand Poem by Antonio Russo

On The Sand

While the sun is tired and goes to sleep
in the sea it falls, and the moon
dressing a suit is coming to know why
tonight you are not next to me,
the moon will not believe it.
It is the same sea that now looks at me, just me,
the sea knew you and it woud give us
cold sand as sleeping bed,
with its waves it would stretch to touch us,
it would help me to undress you
but now it's just me.

So many lovers on the beach
there is no one missing
to see if i can cry.
I would punch the sky if it wouldn't switch off the moon
cause alone in the dark i want to be.
shaking my feet in the seawater
i hear a laugh that seems your,
what am i doing still here?
better the city's hell
where no one knows this truth
and while the summer leave
my heart stays here
and wait for years to meet.
