Old age is the most miserable stage of life. This poem is about an old woman who was unexpectedly betrayed and reviled by her children. Now she wanders alone in search of peace.
With pits and gins and lamely feet,
She dawdled along the muddy street.
Though spooky in twilight hour of night,
she dawdled with a dropp of sight.
The pleasing winds like canard they flew,
She dawdled alone departing her crew.
Her thundering heart, the bleeding path,
Where she dawdled acceding the blamed faults.
Deadbeat with a long march,
she dawdled with her veins parched.
She dawdled and dawdled as though for miles and miles,
To rest in peace beneath the roof in a deadly state of life.
