Once More Poem by Nisho Olme

Once More

I lay on my bed and I cry to myself
As the world slowly fades into black
And the torment of love and the twisting of fate
Steal my soul as I turn to my back.
The daylight escapes as the moon rises up
And the loss in my heart tears me down
But I have one more chance if I still wish to love
So I make up a smile from a frown.
The lingering doubt of my fear breaks apart
Like the man that I once wished to be
And my only recluse from my exposed hopes and dreams
Is the girl that I'm hoping to see.
With her mask drawn away and her secrets revealed
With the depths of her heart pouring out
I may then find the girl whom I've known all along
And I'll know what this all was about.
