Once Upon A Time Poem by Aminath Neena

Once Upon A Time

Yesterday,
I entered
through
The flood gates
into her past
of once upon a time

From
the depleted
framework
I entered
into the bedroom
of once upon a time

Shadows
on the ceiling
danced with phantoms
of the young woman
who lived there
once upon a time.

The crimson
tattoos
on the carpet
must have been badges
that she held
once upon a time

The walls still held
the chains on
to which she was
positioned
as a mannequin
once upon a time

Easing my physique
through the entrance
I turned back
and gently
closed the door
of, once upon a time.
