One Apart Poem by Francis Duggan

One Apart

You live quite an honest existence and to your own self you are true
And you've never cheated anybody though others out of money have cheated you
Yet you have it in you to forgive them for you are one with a kind heart
And people like you are uncommon for truly you are one apart.

You never do look up to others and you always do your own thing
And you do not seek fame and fortune and others your praises don't sing
Yet you are a genuine person and ill of others you never say
And for to help out those in trouble you've often gone out of your way.

You help people out of love only and your gift of kindness with others you share
And you really are one in a million and people like you are so rare
Yet your name never in the newspaper and your face never on the T V
Though karma will surely reward you for you champion humanity

You live such an honest existence and you are unassuming and shy
And you go out of your way to help others and you never boast, cheat or lie
You work for poor pensioners without asking for money out of the kindness of your heart
And you truly are one in a million and you surely are one apart.
