One Can Only Believe Poem by Francis Duggan

One Can Only Believe

To live as a good woman or a good man
You can only hope to be the best you can
Be as a person and live and let live
In life they can expect to receive those who willingly give
What goes around comes around as a truism remain
There is always a price to pay for every ill gotten gain
Treat other people as you would like them to treat you
Any wrong you do to another to your own self you only do
If to your higher self you remain ever true
From karma you will receive your worthy due
Kindness to others in the long term does pay
What we sow we do reap life works in this way
Those who willingly give can expect to receive
On the words of the wise one can only believe.
