One Day In Tabon Peak.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

One Day In Tabon Peak....

that weekend, you took your car
and went to the highest peak in Tabon,
a little foggy and cold, and there
you stand alone, seeing the blue sea
far away, and the plains below dotted
with houses appearing like matchboxes
and some people with the size of those
black ants, and there you shouted at
the top of your voice, saying,
(........) and the words came back

to you, all those echoes, and you
listened and you were no longer alone with
all these voices rippling in the air, and
you heard the voice of your soul, this

entity that you doubt as it is no longer
speaking to you, a stranger within a stranger,
and you listened for long, and you know that
this soul is still there, silenced by your
misconceptions, and lapses and straying

away, for it is not a dust that will just be blown
away by some ill winds, it
sticks to you, and will only go away, if
the ripe time of the falling comes, you,
die just like the rest, and this is the
sadness, you will be forgotten forever......
