One Half Of A Love Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

One Half Of A Love

Inspired by Shivani Gupta

Kept inside one's soul of hearts
away from persistent darkness;
is one-half, of a love now lost
to another; and gone far
away from her in this life forever
In silent list lies the body
where within this half a purity
still survives, awake and so
aware in this life, that
only hope of love in life
will suffice, and thus fulfill
in ones will, the strength
to walk again upon the
paths of living's joy.
Spoken thoughts, from
companionless peace, reach out
into the inner worlds of
hearts from beyond the stars;
and seek, within dreams of those
in time, a clear and pure
response to this love
so torn and broken.
Towards this light of
half a love is drawn
the soul of one made whole,
by the love life borne upon
the highest of mountains;
bathed in the oceans of
heaven's winds and worlds
and long awaited stars;
and anointed with a gift to heal
the wounds, and soothe the scars
left by one's love so
imperfectly ended.
Therefore, now seal within
these words; an experience
simply taken, that love
in life is directly linked
to the love in two souls
within two hearts,
bound together, through
and in time unbroken.
