One Hit Poem by carmen cook

one hit is all it took. i never thought it would happen like it does in my books. i look at you, you look at me then comes the smack that everyone sees. i cry, holding my face looking at you in disgrace. a couple of weeks and you ask me to take you back. how can i when i got smacked? i sit and cry, and cry and you don't come back. i tell myself you love me you don't. i have flashbacks when i get restrained i try to talk about it but go insane. i scream and scream, no one hears. i look at everyone thinking do they believe you put me in tears. they get up and walk away looking at me while they sway. one hit is all it took now i'm writing this in my book.
