One Last Dance Poem by Brian Smith

One Last Dance

Sometimes when it's quiet in the evening
And a gentle breeze whispers outside my window
My mind drifts back to my time with you
I'll wish again for a day from the past
And long for a moment that will forever last
If I could steal one more moment
And reach outside my own body and mind
I would risk my very life to see you again
If I could just have one more chance
if I could have just one more dance
I'm not asking for much
Just one more touch
That would be enough
If I could have one final grant
If I could make one final stance
Just let me have one final dance
I'd play a song that would never end
Just to have one last dance with you
