One Last Eruption Poem by Rusty Ed Gibson

One Last Eruption

Rating: 5.0

Having a beer
in the neighborhood dive
Playing the jukebox
When VanHalen died

Listening to all
of Eddie's Jump songs
Wondering where
All the Good Times Have Gone

From 1984
all the way to Panama
He bent those strings
was the best of them all

Now he's Unchained
no longer Runnin with the Devil
He's Dancing the Night Away
with an oh Pretty Woman

And the Cradle was Rocked
when he put it down
retired from Mean Streets
No more Runaround

From the Top of the World
Now he just Dreams
About eating PoundCake
And Dancing in the Street

He was the Best of Both Worlds
and He showed us all
How to Finish What You Started
When Its Love - Rock On!

Excellent, nicely-written, tribute to Van Halen. Good job!
