One Last Time Poem by Delia Ortiz

One Last Time

Rating: 5.0

Heaven ask why you home? You
whispered softly I had no choice.
My crayons broke, all my books wore torn,
my teacher held my hand,
screams froze a warm classroom full of hope,
An angel came down a stairway wrapping gardens full of love,
embracing me and my friends and told us it was time to go.
I heard my family cried,
I didn't get to say good- by,
they held my picture tight
with all the memories of my short life.
I kissed my mother's tears,
and looked back one last time,
I am home now, I am ready for
heaven doors to open wide.
