One Last Try Poem by Lorenzo Cruz

One Last Try

We drifted and our feelings we never talked about. yet still in my heart I always loved you.. and as time past I realized that you.. you.. are the only one in my life that i ever really cared about.. the only one who can say one word of love and again and again I surrendered my life to you.. But you were to scared to forgive. to scared to plunge deeper.. to face your fears.. I understand I have been there..remember.. Yet I knew that love is deeper.. You left and took my soul with you.. my heart and my life... a corpse wondering in this world so cruel.. I wondered burnt under the sun.. falling from the heat.. no love to quench my thirst.. so I lay and stare at the sky..so blue.. the stars are so beautiful.. and yet they were ugly because you weren't there to see them with me.. I died that day.. Before my death my soul cried silently' One dropp of her love to come back.. two drops to open your eyes.. three to get up.. and a sip to go on..' So I looked in my heart and remembered that first day I looked in your eyes.. That love I seen hiding in your soul, you can't fool me.. and I quenched my thirst with that hope. Yet I died of love. Like the phoenix, coming out of it's own ashes.. I awakened to a new life.. plunging deep in this mystery of love.. the pressure almost crushed my bones.. but love needed an advocate and I was there for you.. pleading your case with my heart and mercy won.. Despite the past or the pain.. I now realize that love is pain and pain is love.. sacrifice of my will for you.. My life for you.. despite the cost I will love you untill the end.. I will walk with you through these mountains of fears, hold you when its too much..
Because love is stronger than death and I am here to prove it.. How? I am still here waiting for you, and praying for you to come out and see this life of love waiting for you. Lorenzo..
