One Lifetime Poem by Edwina Reizer

One Lifetime

Like the blink of an eye
your life just goes.
It happens so fast,
The joys, the woes
and it makes you wonder
is that all there is?

Surely there's more
that we just can't see.
Whatever it is
will I still be me?
or someone I don't like
that's on a hurtful earthly hike?

One lifetime's too short
to get things done.
I need more time
to enjoy the sun
and I know I'm not
the only one.

We all need more time.
One life's not enough.
We think it is
when times get tough.
But that blink of an eye
that makes me cry
yearns for another lifetime.
