One Little Wave Poem by Mahima Prathaban

I set into the ocean and I know not where to go..
Back into the visible seashore or the invisible new land..

Leaving behind my worries, I thought I had set sail,
But am still unhappy, even after leaving jail..

The greener pastures, the happiness to be out of the cage,
I'm nowhere near it and life's just a mirage...

I cannot go back and I see no land beyond..
I'll go as far in the ocean as life takes me along...

These waters are my home now and forever they will be..
I will live here in the ocean as long as can be..

Good bye dear seashore - I don't belong to you..
Bye bye my new land - I know you don't want me too..

Lost in the midst of this crowd I will travel as far as cab be..
One little wave who wanted to see the land beyond the sea..
