One Morning - Poem by Albert Martin

Bright sun shines in the misty morning
This is gonna be a hard working day
When you woke up this morning earlier than me
That’s what you did say
We’re gonna need more arms to work the fields
Though we’ve got nothing for them and we can’t pay

The valley ends a little further
Than your tired eyes they can see
With the meat of young sheep
Our sons mouths they are feed
Our dog eyes shine under the cradle
Where our little baby Rose is asleep

And you say we are poorer
Than you’re able to believe
Nothing really matters much
There are no reasons by we must grieve
I’ll stay always near you
I’ll stay too when you miss to breath
