One Night At Skype ~ Jedne Večeri Na Skajpu - Poem by Jankovic Zoran

Green sign and call.
We are chatting, old friends.
Old theme: Family,
poetry, music and love.
You say: "Turn on the camera."

We look and talk.
I see to big glow in your eyes
and your voice is shaking.
You say that you are desperate,
that you need a hug
and a gentle hand to guide you.

I'm looking at the camera and microphone.
Picture and voice are thousands
kilometers away.
The way you want to go
it seems to me that it is
getting further and further.
You're my friend's wife.

I say: "Turn off the camera."
We are chatting, old friends.
The theme is new: the passing of life.
Nostalgia without meaning and love.
I say: "Sorry, they call me."

I'm cheating you. No one called me.
The green sign disappears.
There are still words in the mind:
Did the distance change you
and gave you courage that you didn't have,
or was it just a moment of weakness?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Jedne večeri na Skajpu
Zeleni znak i poziv.
Ćaskamo Mi, stari prijatelji.
Stara tema: Porodica,
poezija, muzika i ljubav.
Kažeš: "Uključi Kameru."
Gledamo se i pričamo.
Vidim ti sjaj u očima
i podrhtava ti glas.
Govoriš da si očajna,
da ti treba zagrljaj
i nježna ruka da te vodi.
Gledam u kameru i mikrofon.
Slika i glas su hiljade
kilometara daleko.
Put kojim hoćeš da ideš
mi čini se sve dalji i dalji.
Ti si žena mog prijatelja.
Kažem: "Isključi kameru."
Ćaskamo Mi, stari prijatelji.
Tema nova: prolaznost života.
Nostalgija bez smisla i ljubav.
Kažem: "Izvini, zovu me."
Varam. Niko me nije zvao.
Nestaje zeleni znak.
Ostaju opore riječi u mislima:
Da li te je daljina promjenila
i dala ti hrabrost koju nisi imala,
ili je to bio samo trenutak slabosti?
