Woman's Hand ~ Ženske Ruke - Poem by Jankovic Zoran

A woman's face can have a grimace
Whatever the woman's mind wants.
A woman's body can handle everything:
Love, birth and death.

Unfortunately, a woman must grow old once.
Her face and body can, with plastic magic,
become young like old times.
But the woman's hand is her greatest traitor.
There is no medical magic to help.
She will always show how old a woman is.

Ženske ruke

Žensko lice može imati grimasu
kakvu god ženski um poželi.
Žensko tijelo može podnijeti sve:
Ljubav, rođenje i smrt.

Nažalost, žena mora jednom ostariti.
Njeno lice i tijelo može plastičnom
magijom postali mlado kao nekad.
Ali ženska ruka je njen najveći izdajnik.
Tu nikakva medicinska magija ne pomaže.
Ona će uvijek pokazavati koliko žena ima godina.

Topic(s) of this poem: hands, woman

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem came from a dream. I dreamed I was holding the hands of a woman who is not near me for a long time. Her hands were rough of hard labor, but her soul was soft as cotton.
This woman was my wife and she died before five years.

Zoran, you have done it again! (I think they really like you on here.)
Congratulations for another thought-provoking and original Poem of the Day!
P.S: If a woman sleeps at night wearing gloves filled with vaseline, the hands will not betray her.... but most women don't want to go to all that trouble!

I did not practice my poems for Hunter. I really do not know if I like someone here. If I like someone, then I would like to be a woman of my age with a soft soul like cotton and her hands can be where she wants. Thanks for nice words.

Beautiful poem, smart observing poem. My grandma's hands remained always smooth, she has led a rich and wealthy life and she was only to find in shops etc etc. Despite her old age not wrinkled as her fellow coffee mates.
Loveliest poem worded, Jankovic. Excellently observed.
