One Of A Kind - Poem by Noorie Ali

If only one sketch
Wasn’t so black and white
What if it was a matter of picking up a chalk?
Or a pallet of watercolours?

If only one particular painting,

If only we could draw whatever we thought
If only we fought our minds

If only our drawings were not so dull
If only our emotions were so full

If only we could rain our pain inside
If only we could show our tears from thi outside
Maybe we can create a camouflage of feelings
Paint over it a different colour, for each kind of tearing
Outline the main factor of change we’d like

If only portraits could tell a story
With a magical ending of refined glory

If only one picture
Was one of a kind?

If only…
