The stars are shining bright tonight
They twinkle as they smile at each other
No trace of anger, no trace of fright
Oh, how lovely will it be to be a star next life?
I will just rise above the black sky
Emit a light that does not need to create a shadow
Laugh along with the birds as they synchronously fly
Listen to an old man as he hums a song so mellow.
I do not have to be as lovely as the moon
To be captured as though I am a gift on earth
To be chanted as though I am an ancient poem
Darling, all I need is just a place full of warm hearts.
Warm enough to not let me feel the cold night
To let me sweat instead of tear up
To remind me that I can still be one of the sight
Even if the sun comes out and my time falls into a stop.
I just need to be one of the stars
To feel how they are feeling
To know if they have also been through wars
And how the latter scarred their idea of being.
