One People Poem by Dean Meredith

One People

We are one people
Global citizens
Earthlings, worldlings
One confederation
Divided into states
Our rivalry fierce
But only in sport
Sport settles all differences
Justice does not always prevail
But we are reasonably happy
With our blessings
And shortcomings
For we are one people
Our sons and daughters are one
This is the way
Brothers and sisters
Breathe life, smile
Look up and around
See the beauty
Know heaven
Before you go
Know joy
For your children
Give and laugh
And go
Contented
