One White Stick Poem by Natalie Clyne

One White Stick

One white stick
One white stick with an orange rim
Inside one white stick
Is a one-way ticket to the grim reaper

One white stick
Put in the mouths of children
Put in the mouths of adults
Put in the mouths of those who are not born

One white stick
Causes breath shortage
One white stick
Fills the lungs with darkness

That one white stick
Is a killer
Man-made
Man-used
Mans fault

One
White
Stick.
