One Windy Night Poem by Padmore Enyonam Agbemabiese

One Windy Night

on one of those windy nights
the moon would walk us into her lofty bed
where the stars will begin their stories
which no one would hear except you and me
there I will hold your face in my palms
look into the diamonds in your eyes
and when the sun returns with the dawn
it will take my garnished dreams
through subways to your heart
there will be songs from the flamingoes
waiting for us in the lilac- laden garden
