How can one person affect another person so deeply?

How can their presence awaken a sleeping spirit?

How can their influence affect one`s outlook on life, and change the direction they are headed?

How can one find another`s lost smile and remind them how to laugh, and love life again; when no one else could?

How could someone do these things to me?

How could they and they alone keep me in reality every moment we were together?

I didn't need to go to another place in my mind because I loved where I was

I wanted to see the world for what it was, and feel everything

No one else could and still can`t keep me here; my mind always wanders

How did you do these things for me?

I guess I will never know.
