Only With You (Sonnet #207) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Only With You (Sonnet #207)

Love me not as romantic heroes do
Write me not a heart melting love discourse
Take me not to escapes where skies are blue
Let's stay within our hearts where true love pours.

Show me not your love in sweet and good times
Hold not my hand when we tread on soft grass
When I'm at my worst tell me I'm proud you're mine
Show me your love when I cross an impasse.

Oh, I'm about to erase each word I wrote
Or rip this paper and bury it in a well!
For in your tender heart we sail on a love boat
Within our inner world and souls we dwell.

So sacred, precious is true love, divine
Only with you I could breathe it — and define.
