Open Mind Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Open Mind

Open mind

Sit at desk
Scoop out my brain
Spread thin as sheet
Finer than the paper
In notebook
One cell is in height
Now I look
Filled am I with questions
Carefully I stare:
"How was it? "
"How is there? "
"And here…? "
"What about…?
At the end
Compiling the answers
Feel the need to go back
To Egypt
To Alto of La-Paz
To reread Sinuhe
Revisit Maid of Mist
Want to talk to Mummies
See the well I have seen
For livers, hearts and things
(Internals, intestines…)
The graves made of mud
For rebirth, vagina
And the youths dancing on
The bare ox
To win and have the luck
To become serpents' food
And the girls throne down
The fall to sacrifice
Beauty for the beast…

I believe brain must
Go shopping, borrow eyes;
See the things open-mind,
Unable if I am,
Please help expedite
Leave the world
Go and die.
