Open My Heart. Poem by Graham Jones

Open My Heart.

Take my mind to a place of rest
Lay my head on a sweet soft breast
Take me away from the stress and the strife
Open my heart to a new way of life

Ease my spirit, with the gentlest of hands
Take me to places of sunshine and sand
Whisper sweet nothings, to quicken my heart
Sing to me softly with the voice of a lark

Stroke my brow under moonlight and stars
Lift up my soul to the heavens or mars
Touch me with fingers as light as a dove
So that I might hold you and call you my love.

A touching piece about the pining of the gentleness of love - that the yearning of it makes us feel incomplete and that the receiving of it can overwhelm any madness - that we'll be just glad to have it. A wonderful read. - K.
