Opened Eyes Will Diffuse The Strangeness Poem by Robert Beksinski

Opened Eyes Will Diffuse The Strangeness

You must not know me

You must not know this person

Standing here before you

Things you’ve come to expect

These actions, these words

But not from me

So you must be mistaken

I am not a ghost from your past

I am not here to destroy you

You can try to deny me but it won’t work

Inquiries and lies, you may use as weapons

But I will stand potent and firm

Fight for the belief and love that I know

Hopefully you will come to understand

That I am yours

Forever filled with passion

Etched in stone

And not a deafening scream in the wind

From a time long ago
