Opposites Poem by Leo Jones,Jr

Opposites

Life, just a golden stream,
Doth intertwine reality and dream.
Sunshine dance, 'Joie De Vivre'
The proud strut of chanticleer!

Let me tell you about
A time of yore when dreams died out!
When love fled, sadness remained
Sans whimper, sans bang.

A rose that blooms-
The smell of earth;
The moment of enchantment
When a mother gives birth!

In my soul to havoc wreak!
The dark knowledge of abyss peek!
O, the angst! The futility!
How fragile this grip on mortality.
