Opprobrium Poem by Yettie Lawy

Opprobrium

Heart for sale,
conscience for auction,
sincere feelings for riches,
pure soul for power,
all that matters for all that glitters.

Just for jail,
cruelty for loud ovation,
truth for eye-service,
mercy for deaf-ears,
all that matters for all that glitters.

Peaceful silence for high-pitched wail,
true love for mundane conditions,
fidelity for snitches,
genuineness for bags of nacre,
all that matters for all that glitters.
