The Damage Done Poem by Yettie Lawy

The Damage Done

The damage done
the sutures cannot mend
'Fix it up,
Patch it here,
Hold it there'
were the whispers from end to end.
'Every warrior got scars of victory'
Says the oldest in the room with no ounce of empathy.
