Ordinary People Like You Are Poem by Francis Duggan

Ordinary People Like You Are

Rating: 5.0

When you hurt others feelings you seem satisfied
But you do mentally wound one quite deeply when you wound their pride
Ordinary people like you are live on every street
The arrogant and self opinionated are never discreet
The feelings of others to your type to nothing does amount
The hurt you cause to some you never take into account
There's a certain amount of self loathing in your self conceit
Your type are the type I'd prefer not to meet
That nice people far outnumber the nasties 'twould seem fair to say
And I meet good people many every day
People who are kind-hearted and are good to know
Respect for themselves and for others they show
Arrogant and insulting people in their ways so small
They just cannot subscribe to a fair go for all.
