Orlando Poem by B. V. Dahlen

Orlando

Rating: 5.0

In a place
of refuge,
safety,
acceptance,
bullets ripped,
hatred invaded,
darkness crashed,
people fell,
blood flowed,
pain flashed,
death claimed.

In a country
where freedom
claims to reign,
where equality
declares sovereignty,
where brotherhood
is stoutly affirmed,
Why oh Lord?
Why?

I'll tell you why! Because we have Men of Straw as a fictitious government. By the way, the poem is magnificent! It expresses all that has to be said about this tragedy in a most eloquent and heart rendering way.
