Orphan Caterpillars Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Orphan Caterpillars

Orphan caterpillars

Caterpillars crawling all around, on ceiling and the walls
In silence they don’t talk.

To me they are samples of the kids in schools, residential
In Moscow and SU, in Russia, the Afghans.

No need to translate
These quipus
Have rich signs on the walls
In the caves
On stones
(Stolen, handed to, the Europe’s museums)

I know and TRC
I took food and parents,
Moths are killed, in reserves
As have been, First Nations.

And Karmal was puppet in Kabul
He did as he was told, sent orphans to reserve
“In name of schooling…to Auschwitz…for the change.”

Caterpillars
What to say?
You orphans.
