Other People Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Other People

The other people

At the local supermarket, today is a day out for lesbians
or so it seemed by their provocative attitude

Not that I mind, but one has to be wary not to look
at them, they take umbrage and become aggressive.

Why should I be involved with a muscular car mechanic?
Dressed in a summer frock.

It gives me a bitter pleasure to see how the western
world will end up eradicating humanity.

Once I met an actor who said he loved me, a bit awkward
nevertheless, it is touching to be liked.

Hadn't he died of cancer, who knows? we might have
ended as two elderly men looking out for each other.
