Othman Wok - In Remembrance Poem by Andrew W.K. Yip

Othman Wok - In Remembrance

The fight is won;
The race finished.
The commitment to care for others done.
A great life fully lived and cherished.

His life was a conviction of humanity and care;
Service to God, Nation and people,
A true Muslim with brotherhood for all to share;
A compassion and courage with no equal.

Look at the planes flying high.
They fly in the sky around our proud Airport.
Lest we forget this Minister and sportsman but shy -
The untold story of his vision and battles fought.

Yet how long and hard he had to struggle.
Remember his sacrifices for service, love and care -
The manifold religious, social services plans to juggle,
And the Lion Roar and games we all share.

All in this multiracial homeland would miss him.
For he was a caring and righteous Muslim,
A brilliant journalist and true friend,
A beloved Minister of world standing since time began.
