Our Children Are Us Poem by Randy McClave

Our Children Are Us

Our children will not trust Doctors or Physicians
They will see them all with contempt and suspicions,
And when those children of ours ever get sick or ill
They will refuse any medical advice and/ or a shot or a pill,
Because of their parents, who listened to lying politicians.

Our children will not believe or trust in their own government
They will not fully believe in the constitution or maybe not an amendment,
They will pick and choose to obey only certain particular laws
And others they will call lies, misquoted and have flaws.
As they will all think this from their fat fundament.

Our children will not show an immigrant any respect
Their beliefs and thoughts they will quickly and happily reject,
And if they have a different color or a different belief
Then our children will then show them their sharp hateful teeth,
Our children will believe all foreigners have a sinful defect.

Our children will hate the needy and also the poor
They will instead worship the glory of wanting and owning more,
They will laugh and even spit upon a needy helpless face
While unto a dollar bill they will tightly embrace,
Then upon the scars of the destitute, salt they will pour.

Our children will swear, smoke, drink and also cuss
And people not like them they will ridicule and mock and throw under the bus,
They will hate and will judge those who are not at all like them
Damned brats is their truest pseudonym,
In the end those evil, bratty, uncaring, hateful children had turned into us.
