Our Journeys Through Life Poem by Francis Duggan

Our Journeys Through Life

Our journeys through life for us all have to end
And on our way we will make many a friend
And though you may become the toast of the town
There's always the few to try to drag you down
A journey that must end for the monarch and knave
For the wealthy and famous the fearful and brave
For the haves and the have nots and for those who wield power
They wither to die like an Autumnal flower
The true egalatarian when all is said and done
Is the Reaper of lives who does claim everyone
Between the life of the president and pauper he does not differentiate
All of the money in the World could not buy him for a mate
With face lifts and hair dyes you may fight time's decay
But your life's journey must end for you some night or day
