Our Love Poem by Erin Taylor

Our Love

I'm so sorry
I've been feeding you lies
Been taking advantage
Of those mysterious brown eyes
You deserve the truth
Something I've tried so hard to hide
But your heart's piercing screams
Are a sound I'll no longer deny

My love is insatiable
Undeniable
Unbreakable
But the shadows that it casts
Those dark passengers
It has awakened them
And I fear their tempting whispers
Will burn all we have made to dying embers

Your love is so tempting
So assuring
There's no pretending
Every touch
Every smile
Sweet poison
To a heart so wild
Blurry are the lines Of pleasure and bliss
Between you and I
How I pray its forbidden ending
Begins when Time sings the final note
Of my life's melody

Our love is a paradox
Strong yet fragile
Confusing yet dazzling
A perfect swirl of fantasy
Clashing with reality
I love it
I fear it
My soul runs to it
But is afraid to go near it
For the Unknown scares me
But also ignites curiosity
Neither of us have the answers
No one else but Time
So I'll start the clock
By putting my heart in your hands
And yours in mine.
