Our Meeting Poem by Angus Wyman Macdonald

Our Meeting

Rating: 4.5

I am not tired
I am not hungry
I am whole
and blessed with health and happiness.

I swallow anxiety
as a master assumes karma
it was my own
from a dream I had
shadows across the screen
cannot grab me now

Giving of my time
and of my love
I make no gesture
Love is no commodity
or recompense
but is the very condition of our being

I fashioned it at the Earth's foundation
ground and round its planet forming
palpable magma to flow forth
why would I not make
this glowing neckless strong enough
to wind around your very core?

And so I design
and calculate
heading towards the truth
bringing reality
closer to my dream of Love
seamless we will exist forever
in its mystic ray.

The scrim rises!
I penetrate the beautiful veil
you let your hair down
such a world!
could we have made
a better physics
than this love?

Unrobed, I find the key
the secret garden gate
folds far away into space time
though tightly walled
I see through stone
and even onto the end.

You are my one love
and in seeking its sea
how winds a river
canyons long coursed
and cut through crust and rock of Earth
how many folds in life's fabric
before the shroud is finally cast?

I enter at last your ocean
with wide open eyes
I will not blend
nor be blinded by by jealous breakers
that cast me out upon the sand
only to draw me back again into the One.

I look back along the strand
whose footprints filled by other waves
did once define a path
to admit that I was not a glorious one
but nonetheless did too
if only for a moment shine
glint in setting Sun
and meet with you.
